Our Stories

Pushing Barriers is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to advancing and improving the lives and welfare of young people from a refugee background. Read inspiring stories about our participants, volunteers, and our community impact.

Our young people have resettled from diverse countries around the world, and their resilience, hope and positivity have such a powerful impact in the community. Through connecting young people from refugee backgrounds to the wider Australian sporting community, we hope to break down barriers across cultures. Diversity makes our country a more interesting place to live in. Young people from diverse cultures contribute language skills, new ways of thinking, new knowledge, and different experiences.
