Our volunteer positions

Volunteer driver

Our volunteer drivers provide transport to training and competition but can also become mentors, offering moral support, guidance, and positive reinforcement. This role is flexible based on volunteer availability

Join our volunteer driver team to provide transport to training and games.

Volunteer team liaison officer (TLO)

Team liaison officers (TLOs) are assigned a small group of participants from the same team to transport to competition and one training session a week. They also keep everyone up-to-date: participants, families and carers, team managers and coaches, and the Pushing Barriers program manager. Their role may include:
  • notifying the team coach if a participant is unable to train or play, troubleshoot issues, and report significant information to the Pushing Barriers program manager or club.
  • keeping participants and the program manager informed about training and game details.
  • monitoring the overall well-being of participants and reporting any concerns and incidents to the program manager.
  • ensuring all players have, and wear, the required club uniforms and suitable footwear.

Join our TLO team and become a crucial link in the support network for young people from a refugee background.

What are the benefits of volunteering?
